The Lemon Festival in Vietri sul Mare

Every summer, in the month of July, a charming hilly hamlet called Dragonea, located in Vietri sul Mare, hosts a festival dedicated to the lemon, known as the "yellow gold." This celebration, now in its sixteenth edition, is the only event along the Amalfi Coast entirely dedicated to this precious fruit. During the event, you'll have the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes made with IGP lemons, specially prepared for the occasion not only by local restaurants and pastry shops but also by the skilled ladies of Dragonea who demonstrate their culinary abilities every year. Among the main specialties, you'll find lemon-based ravioli and scialatielli, grilled scamorza cheese with lemon, lemon-flavored chicken and octopus, as well as traditional sweets and the famous limoncello liqueur.

The event is organized by the Transboneia 2000 association with the aim of promoting and enhancing the typical products of the hilly territories of Vietri sul Mare. Each year, musical groups participate in the evenings, enlivening the festival with songs and dances.
